Here is a sample from the Rachel #1 gallery. These were the ORIGINAL GIF images released in 1994/1995 period. They have not been compressed, converted to jpg or otherwise altered. We had some of the best -- if not the best -- GIF conversions going on at that time!

All images were "standard size" 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 to handle the mainly DOS environment and flakey video cards of the day. The black backgrounds added only about 20-30 BYTES (not K) to the overhead, even with text, less than 2k was added to the image size -- so all the "size" is image data!! Compare that to the tiny gifs people try to pass off today! Sure, JPG is better and smaller, but it wasn't widely available in 1993/94.

Rachael had been converted to JPG files (new scans) and a Rachel #2 gallery was released in 1997 or there abouts. We will be making those images available here in the next 1-2 weeks (by Mid Jan 2003).
